The net worth of American MMA fighter Anthony Johnson is $4 million. In March of 1984, Anthony Johnson was born in Dublin, Georgia. He’s boxed in multiple weight classes, including welterweight, middleweight, light heavyweight, and heavyweight. In his first mixed martial arts (MMA) match, Johnson defeated Jonathan Romero in August of 2016.
In June of 2007, he made his UFC debut with a 13-second knockout of Chad Reiner. In a fight between Johnson and Kevin Burns in December 2008, Johnson scored the Knockout of the Night. In November 2009, he lost in the Fight of the Night to Josh Koscheck. In October of 2011, Johnson knocked out Charlie Brenneman for the Knockout of the Night. On two separate nights, in July 2014 against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and in January 2015 against Alexander Gustafsson, he had the Performance of the Night in both. UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson was defeated by Daniel Cormier in May 2015. Once again, he had the evening’s best performance after his victories over Jimi Manuwa in September 2015 and Ryan Bader in January 2016.
His professional mixed martial arts record improved to 21-5 following that bout. Prior to his MMA career, Johnson won the collegiate wrestling title at the National Junior College Athletic Association level.
A Health Update On Anthony Rumble Johnson’s Illness
Anthony “Rumble” Johnson is one of the only boxers to ever achieve such widespread success across such a wide range of weight classes. This individual has victories over both Dan Hardy and Andrei Arlovski, at welterweight and heavyweight, respectively.
Notably, Johnson competed for the UFC light heavyweight belt in 2015 and 2017. Both of his fights against Daniel Cormier ended in losses. If Johnson were to suffer a second defeat, he would retire from the UFC.
Johnson explained that this was a major accomplishment because of the journey he was on. To paraphrase: “When I come back, you’ll witness a new, more deadly version of what you’ve already seen.”
The second time Johnson lost against Cormier, he announced his retirement from MMA. Sadly, as is so frequently the case, the retirement did not last. He signed with Bellator in 2020 and made his debut the following year.
In the quarterfinals of the Bellator Light Heavyweight World Grand Prix last year at Bellator 258, he defeated Jose Augusto Azevedo Barros via knockout. In the subsequent round, he would meet Vadim Nemkov. Unfortunately, he got hospitalized and had to miss that fight.

Johnson uploaded pictures to Instagram showing him in a hospital bed, but he never said what ailment he was dealing with. He also requested that his devotees pray for his health.
Johnson has recently reported that he has resumed his workout routine. That report was accompanied by a photo of Johnson in his welterweight days. Johnson’s post-illness physique is noticeably more toned than it was just two years ago when he was still toying with the idea of becoming a bodybuilder.
Johnson defeated Jimi Manuwa, Ryan Bader, and current UFC light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira in a row with knockouts before losing to Cormier and quitting the UFC. Johnson, who fights at 205 pounds, has two further knockout victories to his name, over Alexander Gustafsson and Antonio Rogerio Noguiera.
There have been multiple claims of domestic violence against Johnson, tarnishing his reputation as one of the sport’s most feared power strikers. He was found guilty of domestic assault in 2008 and given a three-year probationary period as a result. A domestic violence report was filed against Johnson in 2014, but no charges resulted. Johnson was charged with domestic assault in 2015, but the charges were withdrawn as part of a plea deal.
Personal Life
Soon after his retirement from competitive karate, Johnson founded Competitive Body Development, a CBD oil business. Johnson was brought on board at Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship as the head of fighter relations at the start of 2019.
Allegations of Domestic Violence
After entering a plea of no contest in 2008, Johnson was found guilty of domestic battery. He received a three-year probation sentence. He was originally accused of shattering the victim’s cell phone and facing charges for both criminal threats and property damage, but the allegations were dropped.
In Arkansas, Johnson’s ex-girlfriend and the mother of his children accused him of domestic violence in March 2014. Johnson’s ex-girlfriend claimed in a police report made public in September 2014 that he had shown up at her place of employment, grabbed her shirt behind the neck, and dragged her out of her chair. She went on to state that Johnson verbally abused her in front of several coworkers and then grabbed her right arm and yanked on it multiple times to draw her closer to him. The girlfriend was seen to have scratches on her collarbone and a bruise on her arm, according to the police report. Johnson’s girlfriend reportedly sobbed and shook as she told police her side of the story. They did not press charges.
On May 5, 2019, in Boca Raton, Florida, Johnson was taken into custody following a domestic dispute with his girlfriend. During a dispute, Johnson allegedly went upset, scooped up his girlfriend, and dragged her into another room. Then, Johnson’s girlfriend dialed 911, claiming she was afraid for her own safety. Johnson was arrested by police upon their arrival, and he was taken to the Palm Beach County prison to be charged on counts of domestic assault (by law, any act of non-consensual touching could be considered battery).
Johnson was freed from custody several hours later on his own recognizance, which means he signed a court order pledging to appear at future court dates. At his arraignment on May 15, Johnson pled not guilty. As a result of Johnson and the prosecution coming to an agreement that included Johnson taking an anger management course, the case was withdrawn with no further action taken against Johnson. He failed to show up for mandatory drug testing twice weekly after testing positive for marijuana.
